Govt looking into Domenic Johansson’s Swedish custody

After over a month’s efforts by a local NGO for the release of an NRI mother’s son from the custody of Swedish authorities in Gotland, the Indian external affairs ministry has said it is now looking into the matter, including the legal aspects.

The incident came to light after Fam Christer Johansson and his NRI wife Annie Johansson (Nirmal Kumar Bharos) wrote to a city-based NGO India’s Smile that their 11-year-old son Domenic has been taken into custody by the child welfare services of the European nation in 2009.

Family of State-napped Swedish Child Savors Small Victory

Christer and Annie Johansson have won a small but hopeful victory in their quest to regain custody of their nine-year-old son Domenic who was taken from them over 2 years ago in a dramatic raid while the family was seated on an airliner departing the Nordic country. Ruby Harrold-Claesson, the couple’s attorney, reported to HSLDA that the Gotland District Court ruled in favor of the Johanssons, allowing them to retain their parental rights of Domenic.

Swedish authorities threaten to completely revoke parental rights of homeschooling couple

STOCKHOLM, October 12, 2011 (LifeSiteNews.com) - Swedish authorities that seized a seven-year-old boy from his family because the parents chose to homeschool him are threatening the parents with permanent loss of their child and a complete termination of their parental rights.

Swedish police snatched Domenic Johansson, son of Christer and Annie Johansson, in June 2009 from an airplane bound for India, Annie’s homeland. The main reason for the seizure was that Domenic was homeschooled. Since then Domenic’s entire family has been denied virtually any contact with their son.

Domenic, now 9 years old, has been held in state foster care for more than 24 months.

In June 2010, the Home School Legal Defense Association (HSLDA) and the Alliance Defense Fund (ADF) filed a joint application on behalf of the Johansson family at the European Court of Human Rights (ECHR) and have been working to support the family since shortly after Domenic’s seizure.

“The United States Supreme Court has called the termination of parental rights the family court equivalent of the death penalty,” stated Michael Donnelly, Director of International Relations at the Home School Legal Defense Association.

“The government shouldn’t abduct and imprison children simply because it doesn’t like homeschooling. That’s bad enough. But now the state is going even further by attempting to get the parents out of the way altogether,” said ADF Legal Counsel Roger Kiska. “This simply cannot stand. We will do everything in our power to help reunite this family.”

Both ADF and HSLDA are currently asking for letters to be written to Swedish officials and embassies in an attempt to renew attention to the family’s case and to encourage Swedish officials to release Domenic back to his family.

Annie till akuten för 4:e gången!

Annie har den senaste tiden varit väldigt orolig, suttit uppe på nätterna, hostat extremt, haft smärtor i bröstet och i dag så kollapsade hon än en gång. Efter senaste mötet med socialtjänsten så var hon mer eller mindre chockad i flera dagar över hur vi blir och har blivit behandlade. Efter att barnbidraget också togs bort tillfälligt så slog hon av. Ekonomiska bekymmer på allt detta är det sista vi behöver!

Nu är jag dock ruskigt förbannad, det här är ett skarpt försök ”vållande till annas död”… Alla på soc vet hur Annie mår, men istället för att tänka på det, så förnedrar dom ännu mer, och hur fasiken kan man sjunka så lågt, hur är det möjligt, hur kan det vara lagligt? Ja det är det inte, men nonchalansen är total känner vi!

Dominic Johansson får bara träffa föräldrarna en kvart i veckan

Världen Idag skriver om fallet Dominic Johansson som omhändertogs av Gotlands socialtjänst. Dominic får bara träffa sina föräldrar femton minuter per vecka.

UPPDATERAT! Sanningen är enligt Dominics far, att de inte alls får träffa sin son 15 minuter i veckan, utan endast tala med honom denna tid i telefon.

The HSLDA, the premier organization in the world advocating for homeschooling, confirmed yesterday it has sent a formal letter to a local Swedish social services unit involved in the case in which Dominic Johansson, of Gottland, was forcibly taken into custody minutes before he and his parents, Christer and Annie Johansson, were due to take off to start a new life in India, Annie's home country.

Jag hade tänkt att hålla tyst, men nu när barn- och utbildningsförvaltningens rapport om vår son och hans skolgång sprids på Internet tillsammans med kommentarer och gissningar så får det vara nog!

Jag gifter mig med min man år 2000, då en glad och frisk naturkär människa. Efter naturkatastrof, personrån med mera kom vi 2001 till Sverige och min man behövde hjälp med trauma, men fick istället åtta olika mediciner som gjorde hans situation värre. Jag hjälpte honom under många år då han kollapsade och försökte ta livet av sig flera gånger på grund av kraftiga biverkningar. År 2006 flyttade vi hem till min mans föräldrar för att få vila efter allt som hänt.

Jag blev utbränd och min man fick nu ta hand om mig istället. Samtidigt startades en utredning om oss som familj och föräldrar, vi tog då på socialtjänstens begäran vår son till BVC för en kontroll och han var fullt frisk trots allt vi hade arbetat oss igenom, på egen hand!

Ytterligare utredningar påbörjades och vi förstod att vi behövde flytta härifrån för att få frid och ro. Min man försökte vid ett flertal tillfällen förklara vår situation och det vi gått igenom, var gång blev en besvikelse på grund av ert ointresse.
Vi tog reda på hur man ska gå tillväga angående utbildning och utresa, vi ringde Skolverket, men rektorn följer varken Skolverkets rekommendation eller lag. Istället startar man ytterligare en utredning.

Jag ansökte om ett möte för att få träffa er på barn- och utbildningsförvaltningen för att diskutera saken, men ni vägrade träffa oss, istället fick vi böter (vite) för att vi inte lämnade vår son till skolan! Ni förbisåg alla våra önskemål och att vi skulle flytta!

Min man fick efter flera månader till slut ett möte med er, han kom hem besviken. Jag behövde då söka läkarhjälp flera gånger på grund av hjärtproblem och ångest i samband med den diskriminering och förnedring vi utsattes för.

Vi sålde allt vi hade för att få råd med flytten, jobb och annat arbete väntade i Indien, vår son skulle för första gången få träffa sin mormor, släkt och kusiner. Vi kom ingenstans då ni valde att omhänderta vår son, hindrade vår flytt och diskriminera oss ännu mer. Varför vill ni oss så illa?

Nu är jag sängliggande sedan en och en halv månad tillbaka, och blir sämre för var dag som går. Ni fann karies i min sons mun, det går att ta hand om hos en tandläkare, traumat får han leva med för evigt, det gäller även oss.
Hur långt har ni tänkt att ta detta, hur länge och hur mycket har ni tänkt misshandla min familj?
